About:
Chinese Embassy Picnic a Whopping Success
The Maryland-China Business Council’s annual picnic was an
unqualified success and a great time for families and
attendees all. Under a pavilion at the wooded Seneca Creek
Park in Gaithersburg, Maryland, the food, fun and frolic
brought out the best in camaraderie and strengthened the
ongoing bond between MCBC and the Chinese Embassy.
We were fortunate to have a day that included weather of all
kinds, a mid-day summer rain did little to dampen the
spirits of the gathered, as there was much to celebrate and
consider as our mutual good fortune.
Mr. Steve Drake, Vice-Chair of the council presided over the
event, which featured American and Chinese fare,
refreshments, music, a mini-Olympics for the kids and
pleasant, relaxed get together. Mr. Xie Feng, Deputy Chief
of Mission of the Chinese Embassy provided official and
friendly remarks.
Thanks to Kristin Mowry, Tasha Wood and Laura Ding of Mowry
International who put the event together, Bo Xuan of the
MCBC, who provided the liaison with the Embassy folks and
all the MCBC members and supporters who came out to
celebrate our friendship.
Let’s do it again next year!
